Under Remodel

Well we have had a long couple of months redoing our kitchen, and since it looks like we probably have a couple more months........ Thought I would post some pictures of progress. We started with the lovely white painted plywood cabinets, with not one drawer in the whole kitchen and also some cabinet doors were gone when we bought house-adds character right? But the pics show before, during demolition, the u-haul of Ikea cabinets(which my husband has mastered putting together by the way). Also just friday we got granite counters installed and Josh put in our sink, faucet and dishwasher-Thank goodness! I am dependent upon these luxuries it seems. We still have more cabinets to install, flooring, sheetrock, electrical and lighting to go- but I can already tell it will be so worth it!

Wow, that looks amazing. You have inspired me to start working on ours. Of course, it still may be years before we actually start...hohum. Great job!

That is going to look great! Your house will seem so much more open that way. Was that a load-bearing wall? Yikes! That's a lot of work!

We need to come by and see it sometime!

Yes, it has taken us 2 years to start on ours too, thanks for the encouragement! And Brooke, why yes it is a load-bearing wall! And of course tons of plaster and lathe since the house is 1938. We would love for you to stop by, we could stroller over to the river and walk anytime you guys are up for it.

Are you happy with the Ikea cabinets? We are planning on using those when we finish our kitchen.

Thanks guys, we really like the Ikea cabinets. They are just as good as or better than the Kraftmaid ones we priced and they are a third of the price. The organization features they have are amazing too!
